Interactive Resources for Children, Teens,
Young Adult Women and Ministry Wives

Seeing the need to engage groups within churches, our national ministry partners are offering resources that are interactive and target specific groups. This is the culmination of countless surveys and research work that has highlighted who is falling between the cracks. These resources also come from listening to real folks in real churches who are facing real needs. Some don’t know where to start, while others aren’t sure what to offer or how to connect in relevant, life changing ways.

Offering an event or class - we do that. Coming and going to church – we’ve got that. Meeting people where they are and moving them forward as a disciple of Christ – that’s a whole different story. But that is where these resources can help.

Think of a person who is in or working with one of these groups: children, teens, young adult women and ministry wives. Now, as you read through these resources, see if they can help engage each affinity group in the life of your church through a deeper walk with Christ:

Zowie! 200+ Ministries Kids Can Do – This book put out by New Hope Publishers in 2008 gives great ideas and tools to get children involved in hands on ministry. Sometimes the hardest work is coming up with an idea and then implementing it. Zowie! helps you with both.

Woven – This is a brand new tool from LifeWay. Woven is a guide that will help you put together a fantastic retreat for teen girls. These mini retreats can be done locally or out of town. The key is having time with young girls in a unique setting that will help them find handles to hang on to in the Christian life.

YA (Young Adult) Women Think Tank Questionnaire- There are many reasons why many young adult women are missing from our congregations. Some are even followers of Christ but have become disengaged from a local church.  The eighteen questions posed will foster a conversation that can help you find connection points with this formidable group. Gather some young ladies at Starbucks and start asking questions!

In Our Shoes: Real Life Issues for Ministry Wives by Ministry Wives – The new release from LifeWay tackles tough and everyday issues that women face in the unique role of being a ministry wife. This Bible study can be enjoyed individually, between two friends or as a group.

Whether it is activities for children, a retreat for teens, a questionnaire for young women or a Bible study for ministry wives, there are many resources to help you reach the diverse needs of your church.
