Psalm 16:3 Gatherings

Pastors' Wives Conference

Hispanic Women's Conference

"As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight” (Psalm 16:3).

The first two weekends of March were a thrill for the Women’s Resource ministry!

The Hispanic Women’s Conference at Highland Hills in Henderson was a life changing weekend. I was so deeply humbled and encouraged by our Hispanic women as they are eager and able to reach their communities for Christ. It is a tremendous privilege for the Nevada Baptist Convention to come alongside and provide encouragement as they do so.

Our Hispanic Pastors’ Wives led in worship as well as all of the teaching times. What a thrill to hear the Word of God being taught and songs of praise lifted up in another language!

We had over 60 women from all over Las Vegas and even Pahrump. We also had 15 teenagers, college student, and adults from Highland Hills who took care of over 40 children!

The very next weekend, First Baptist Sparks hosted our Pastors’ Wives Conference. Once again, it was a special time of refreshment for these women.

We had 31 ladies from all over Nevada who were challenged to “Change Your World” by our guest speaker, Donna Avant.

The Second Baptist Choir from Reno truly ministered to the group as they sang. Breakouts were led by a great team of Pastors’ Wives. It was amazing to see the body of Christ come together and minister to one another with such sincerity.

Both of these conferences were provided free of charge thanks to our Florida Partnership and your churches participation in the Cooperative Program. We are already making plans for both Pastors’ Wives and Hispanic Women’s Conferences next year to be in the north and south in hopes of making these great times of encouragement more accessible.

Put Some Spring in Your Women’s Ministry!

Warmer days and early flowers announce springs arrival! It’s a great time to do some new things that will perk up your walk with the Lord and ministry for the Lord. Here is a couple of ideas you can incorporate yourself or in your church group:

Personal “business” Card – Business cards to personalize come in many designs and colors and can be purchased in local stores (you can also go online to make them).

The card should have your name, the church you attend and its website or address. If your women’s ministry has a special name, you may also want to list it. Depending on space, you can also have a short verse or part of a verse. If you feel comfortable with the person, write your email address or phone number on the back, but in general, don’t give out personal information. The concept is simple – look for opportunities to invite women to know the Lord and His church. Make a goal for yourself or your group to give out a certain number of cards each week. It may be as simple as leaving it with your tip, giving it to a co-worker or new neighbor or a visitor at your church service. Keep them in a handy place like you purse or wallet. Pray for the folks you give it to and see what God does!

Flowers for a Friend – Round up your kids, grandkids or a few friends for a “mission trip” to the local garden center. If you’re not good with flowers, ask someone to go with you who is, or ask for help at the garden center. Work together to pick out a pot and some flowers, along with dirt and fertilizer. Once you’re home, plant the flowers in the pot and deliver them to a pregnant friend, homebound church member, or your Pastors’ Wife. Attach a note of encouragement and watch the smiles that bloom!
